PismoEmpodera is a training and hiring program for professionals with disabilities, developed in partnership with ProsperTechTalents. Our goal is to hire and train 14 junior software engineers, offering free training during working hours, part-time, for 4 months. This program was created to ensure that participants acquire the necessary skills to excel at Pismo and in the technology market.

What you'll do
- Write code that can implement the technical designs developed by the team in an efficient, readable, testable, and well-documented way.
- Have the ability to implement readable tests with good coverage of business rules and also against errors.
- Contribute positively in all stages of the software development cycle performed in the context of your team: design, requirements, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation.
- Maintain and improve existing code bases by performing continuous and disciplined code reviews with your peers.
- Collaborate with your peers to establish constantly evolving best practices, approaches, techniques, and methodologies for efficiency gains, productivity, and waste elimination.
- Ensure that your entire team follows software development best practices through code reviews and ensure the stability of your team's applications through environment monitoring.
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic to moderate understanding of English: Written communication skills are necessary. Pismo is a global company, and many documents are in English.
- Basic understanding of backend development: Server code in any programming language: Java, Node.js, Python, Golang, etc.
- Basic understanding of algorithms and data structures: Understanding of basic concepts that will be covered daily.
- Basic understanding of Git/Github: Frequently used by the team, the person should know how to work with branches, commits, revert commits, and resolve conflicts.
- Basic understanding of databases: Managing databases and knowledge of SQL for scripts, queries, inserts, and updates.
