Job Description - Manager - Accounting

Job Title: Manager - Accounting

Job Location: Montreal, QC (On-Site)

Compensation: $95,000 - $110,000

Highlights:

Must Have:

  • CPA Designation
  • 3+ years of Public Practice Experience

Preferred previous organizations worked in:

  • Big 4 Firms (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC)
  • Mid-sized firms (BDO, MNP, Grant Thornton, etc.)

Position Overview: As a Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing client engagements, including year-end compilation engagements, corporate and personal tax return preparation, and financial statement generation.

Job Function: Accounting

Reporting to: Senior Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage year-end compilation engagements for clients.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns, including complex tax situations.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide timely responses to inquiries.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff accountants and junior professionals.
  • Support and implement training programs to enhance team members' skills.
  • Perform regular reviews of workpapers and documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English & French)
  • CPA license is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on compilations and tax preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation software.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
