Position Summary

Hela Spice Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced and dependable Shipper & Receiver to join our manufacturing and warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient shipping, receiving, inventory movement, and material handling of products and raw materials within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

This role requires strong forklift experience, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with production, purchasing, quality assurance, and accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving

• Receive incoming shipments and verify products against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery documentation.


• Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or quality concerns and report discrepancies immediately.


• Prepare outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, and shipping documentation.


• Coordinate shipments with carriers and ensure timely dispatch of orders.


• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records within company systems.

Forklift & Material Handling

• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment throughout the warehouse and production areas.


• Load and unload trucks in a safe and efficient manner.


• Move raw materials, finished goods, and packaging supplies to designated storage or production areas.


• Conduct daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.


• Follow all warehouse traffic, food safety, and health & safety procedures.

Inventory & Warehouse Support

• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock rotation activities.


• Ensure materials are properly stored, labeled, and organized.


• Support warehouse cleanliness and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.


• Assist with inventory control and report inventory discrepancies.


• Work closely with production and purchasing teams to ensure material availability.

Health & Safety / Compliance

• Follow all company policies, GMPs, food safety procedures, and health & safety requirements.


• Wear required PPE and operate equipment safely at all times.


• Participate in safety meetings and required training programs.


• Maintain compliance with company standards, HACCP, and food manufacturing requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.


• Minimum 5 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse setting.


• Valid forklift certification preferred.


• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.


• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping documentation.


• Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems is an asset.


• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a physically demanding environment.


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and sitting.


• Comfortable working at heights when required.
