Overview

We’re partnering with a high growth, private, fully integrated real estate management company with over 200 properties across North America. You will report directly to the Controller, operate as their ‘right hand’. You’ll pay a key role in the oversight of the regular accounting/reporting cycles, development of the team and a variety of project and initiatives.

Opportunity Details

If you are a designated CPA, with Real Estate experience or coming directly from public accounting with a relevant client base, a proven Manager with strong communication skills then this role could be ideal.

Key responsibilities and oversight:
- Preparation of period end reporting and consolidated financial statements
- Ensure a smooth and efficient month end close process including preparation of more complex entries
- Coach and supervise a team of finance professionals
- Lead complex transactions relating to acquisitions, dispositions and restructuring
- Co-ordinate liaison with 3rd party professionals including investment partners and external auditors
- Execute ad hoc initiatives/special projects required by the Controller & owner

The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) ideally including experience at a major public accounting firm
- 2+ years directly supervising and developing a team
- Experience in the Real Estate industry or related client experience from public accounting
- A strong understanding of ASPE and IFRS accounting principles
- Self-confident with excellent written and verbal communication skills
