Founded in 1994 by Prosper and Martine Assouline, Assouline brought the illustrated book market to life with products that were modern and creative. Today, the luxury book market has become an indispensable tool for luxury brands. Beyond "beautiful books" Assouline is invested In the promotion of culture. It has created the "first brand of luxury culture" by opening boutiques where one can discover a world of good taste, excitement and intellect, a place where "culture can be acquired" within a luxurious environment. One can purchase complete book collections as well as objects that belong in contemporary libraries such as perfumed candles and "cabinets of curiosities." The Wholesale Manager is responsible for effectively driving the development of ASSOULINE in assigned regions, under the supervision of the Global Sales & Brand Director, supporting the APAC region. This will include a combination of wholesale & non-reseller trade accounts such as hospitality or interior design clients. Key Responsibilities:
Reaching and exceeding sell-in targets assigned by senior management. Handling high-level of customer contact on a daily basis (by telephone, email, in-person visits) and managing order process. Working closely with Logistics and Finance departments to ensure smooth processing of orders and shipments. Negotiating deals to increase business with an understanding of the ASSOULINE program, discounts, and practices. Enriching strong relationships with current retail and trade partners, with a specific focus on branded corners and key accounts. Reviewing account performance on a regular basis and keeping track of business generated;
taking corrective actions to ensure yearly budget per door is met. Implementing and assisting in developing outreach materials and programs to clientele. Maintaining visual merchandising and display in line with brand's policy. Scheduling regular training sessions to keep accounts up to date with brand and product knowledge. Researching new channels, markets, and customers within assigned markets;
and identifying new relevant opportunities for the brand. Adapting ASSOULINE's global commercial strategy to assigned territories and developing plans to approach worldwide sales and distribution on a country-by country-basis within assigned region. Qualifications:
~3-4 years wholesale sales experience, preferably in the luxury and/or lifestyle sector ~ Experience in assigned designated markets ~ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required including VLookups, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting ~ Excellence negotiation skills, strong commercial fair ~ Hands-on and resourceful ~ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written ~ Ability to analyze figures to draw conclusions and formulate business recommendations ~ Experience in working in fast-paced, agile commercial environments ~ Ability to work across multiple teams, markets, and time zones ~ Understanding of inventory management, merchandising, finance, logistics, retail operations, marketing and communications ~ Interest in culture, lifestyle, design, fashion and luxury, and awareness of trends within these fields Assouline is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
