As a Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineer in our R&D team, your mission is to support the design, prototyping, and hands-on development of innovative battery manufacturing solutions. You will play an important role in advancing our process development by combining CAD modelling, 3D printing, and hands-on mechanical skills. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the engineering of next-generation battery manufacturing, working closely with an international and technology-driven team to support our journey.
YOUR TASK
- Design and modify 3D CAD models for manufacturing prototypes, machines, and fixtures.
- Use 3D printing and basic machining tools, including drilling and milling, to build prototypes and testing apparatus.
- Select, purchase and dimension automation components in the field of motors, sensors, pneumatic actuators, and similar.
- Participate in hands-on execution by assembling and commissioning prototypes, and assisting with testing setups to evaluate mechanical functionality and design robustness.
- Document designs, test setups, and findings to support future development and enhance design iterations.
- Holds a degree or a technician (Meister/Techniker) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with technical training (Ausbildung) in mechanics or mechatronics preferred.
- Has proficiency in CAD modelling software (such as Autodesk Inventor) and experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping methods.
- Competence in solid mechanical ability with hands-on skills in drilling, milling, and basic machining for prototype assembly and testing.
- Having experience in pneumatic systems, fluid flow control, and process automation is a valuable plus.
- Is self-motivated and reliable with strong attention to detail, demonstrating a proactive problem-solving approach in a collaborative, fast-paced start-up environment.
