Software Engineer

The Team:

You will be joining the Celonis Common Data Model team within the Product and Engineering department. Our mission is to build system-agnostic data models for business processes using state-of-the-art object-centric process mining technology to accelerate time to value for our customers. This team specializes in three aspects: defining the ontology of the most common business processes, providing prebuilt transformations for such ontologies for major source systems like SAP, Oracle etc, and lastly, building a robust pipeline that facilitates content development at scale.

The Role:

As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and efficiency of our software development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will span from early development support to building robust testing and release pipelines for our content. In your daily work, you are not bothered by getting your hands dirty with manual testing, but are bothered by repetitive tasks and capable of coming up with creative solutions to avoid repetition. Hands-on experience means you understand the role of test automation, and can create scripts independently or pair with other team members for larger projects. This involves collaborating with a small group of teammates with different programming methods like pair programming and utilizing Jira and GitHub CI/CD.  

The work you’ll do:

• Take responsibility for pieces of work throughout the stages of development - from design to deployment.


• Build testing and release pipelines to ensure high-quality content development.


• Implement maintainable and reliable software that meets expectations, including complex features and applications.


• Develop practical solutions to technical problems that meet stakeholder needs.


• Collaborate with other teams to reuse and integrate their testing infrastructure into our project.

The qualifications you need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience


• 2+ years of experience in Java, Python or Golang development


• Fluency in scripting and modern object-oriented languages


• Experience with versioning system like Git and CI/CD


• Experience with relational databases and SQL


• Familiar with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)


• Strong communication skills (English is a must)


• Passion and motivation to learn and grow as a Software Engineer
