- Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, lead and manage the MS&T Analytical Lab Team, overseeing analyses, troubleshooting, and lab activities to support process development and product characterization.
- Collaborate with DS Labs, DP Labs, international Analytical/QC departments, and other functions to align analytical strategies, standards and ensure timely delivery of comparable test results.
- Provide scientific and technical leadership, ensuring high-quality results across biological, molecular, and physical/chemical methods, while fostering team collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the main contact for internal and external partners, managing operational and capital expenditures, safety, training, and documentation.
- Attract, mentor and evaluate team members, developing talent to meet future competency needs and enhancing analytical capabilities through standardized methods.
- Make independent decisions regarding lab setup, experimental design, and method standardization, while managing multiple priorities and continuously revisiting standards according to project needs.
- Partner with CMC development and Vaccines Research Teams and encourage knowledge sharing and application of scientific expertise across cross-functional teams.
- Profile:
- MSc degree with 10+ years in analytics of vaccines or biologics, MS&T labs or start-ups including multiple years of conceptual design, improvement, execution and evaluation of complex biological assays.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct leadership experience, including technical staff development.
- Solid experience in virology, molecular biology, immunology, cell culture handling, and bioanalytical assays; experience with live viruses or in a BSL-2 environment is a plus.
- Preferred experience working in a GLP environment.
- Detail-oriented self-starter and team player who can balance entrepreneurial needs with timely analytics for process development and troubleshooting.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and a proven ability to lead multiple projects and influence others.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented, capable of effective prioritization and cooperative interaction in a matrix environment.
