Role Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic bilingual news editor fluent in English and Greek to join its team in Athens, Greece. This is a full-time on-site role for a News Editor assistant to the media's Managing Editor.
The News Editor will join a team of dedicated professionals and will be responsible to:
- Collaborate with the managing editor to write daily news articles that meet audience preferences, create feature stories, and produce articles curated from our partners
- Ensure stories are well written, accurate, and submitted to deadline
- Use social media to distribute GTP's articles in a professional manner to draw attention and engagement
- Monitor the news on a daily basis, generate story ideas, and plan new articles
- Keep up to date with trends and developments relating to the media’s subject matter
- Attend press conferences and industry-related events (on some occasions)

Requirements
- A bilingual (English/Greek) applicant is highly preferred.
(Applicants who speak and write English fluently with some knowledge of Greek will be considered. Verbal and written communication skills in Greek are a plus for the position.)
- Degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
- Proven work experience as a journalist
- Strong English-writing skills (must have the ability to produce English news articles)
- Tech-savvy, meaning that you are comfortable using modern office productivity tools and social media platforms
- SEO knowledge/keyword research
- Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress ideally)
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- A team player
- Familiarity with photography (not strictly necessary)
