Job Description - Site Coordinator

Principia is seeking for a Site Coordinator in Chalkidiki/Thessaloniki, Greece.

Principia is a producer and developer of renewable energy projects in Greece. The business manages a diversified portfolio of wind, solar, hydropower and integrated battery storage technologies to help accelerate Greece’s transition to a cleaner and more sustainable future. As of June 2024, its portfolio consists of 65 plants under operation with a total installed capacity of 566MW, and an additional 2 solar parks under construction with a total capacity of 11MW.

Principia was established in March 2024 by its shareholders, Enel SpA and by a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management, having previously begun operations in 2008 as part of Enel Green Power in Greece.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all site activities comply with applicable safety regulations and company policies. Promote a safety-first culture by enforcing proper safety protocols and procedures on-site.
  • Ensure that construction activities are completed on time and within budget, while complying with design specifications and quality requirements.
  • Monitor the performance of Contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to project timelines, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials and equipment needed for PV and BESS installations.
  • Track inventory to control site logistics, ensuring the availability of resources at the right time and location on-site.
  • Monitor work progress and keep tracking on-site key performance indicators, to ensure activities align with project schedules and construction plans.
  • Collaborate with the construction and engineering teams to identify and resolve any site challenges that may impact project timelines or quality.
  • Ensure the correct installation of PV panels, inverters, battery storage units, and associated electrical systems by overseeing subcontractor work.
  • Supervise the commissioning activities of the electrical systems and installation.
  • Document and report site activities and project status through on-site inspections, changes, and project updates accurately to the senior management.
  • Document and report any construction changes and project updates, with respect to the approved design prescriptions and report to senior management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field (Electrical, Mechanical Engineering) or relevant experience in site coordination.
  • 2-4 years of experience in site coordination, ideally within the renewable energy sector or large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience in PV solar and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with the installation and commissioning of PV and energy storage systems.
  • Strong understanding of site coordination processes and construction techniques, including scheduling, material management, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of PV and BESS technologies and their associated electrical and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project,) and computer skills (MS Office), Autocad.
  • Ability to read and interpret site drawings, schedules, technical specifications, standards and regulations, quality control and construction plans.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English
