APJ & India Content Marketing Manager

  Your Role 
  
 
 This role reports to the Senior Director Marketing for APJ and India but works very closely with all marketing leaders within the region.
 
 The Content Marketing Manager will work closely with the Ciena APJ and India field and regional marketers to create content for multi-market, market-specific and account-specific campaigns. This will include anchor content creation as well as advertising and email copywriting.
 
 A key capability of the role will be taking briefs from field marketing and relevant functions, finding existing Ciena messaging on the topic and customizing it to market needs. The content will need to be relevant to market trends, align with Ciena strategy and be engaging and wrapped with good story telling capability.
 
 
 
  Your Responsibilities 
  
 
 Writing and editing:
 
 Copywrite, or supervise copywriting of freelancers/agencies, for campaigns in region as delegated by field marketers and regional program manager
 
 Includes communicating with subject matter experts and authors to gather relevant insights and drive author approval
 
 Common writing tasks include blogs, video scripts, infographic text, landing page copy, ad banner copy, social media ad form fills, email copy
 
 Video management:
 
 Drive video execution with internal stakeholders and external creative resources, where relevant for location and language
 
 Cover scripting and creative direction, including on site for shoots where possible
 
 Strategy and advice:
 
 Strategy and execution of editorial calendars covering multiple pieces of content
 
 Advise content strategy and share best content practices during annual and campaign planning
 
 Content quality control:
 
 Serve as primary brand and content quality guardian in region
 
 Coordinate with corporate comms and brand teams where relevant
 
 Strive for expertise in writing, managing, and creating visuals, as well as content marketing trends in region
 
 Manage translation of content as required
 
 Industry skills:
 
 Build an understanding of the wider APJ and India market around customer applications and the associated unique uses and needs for Ciena solutions to ensure appropriate content customization
 
 Applicable vertical segment coverage for this position includes service provider, data center, ICPs, utilities, public sector, financial services.
 
 
  Minimum Qualifications 
 
 Bachelor’s degree required
 
 3 – 5 years’ experience in job duties of content marketing, journalism, public relations, or related fields
 
 Excellent written and oral communication skills
 
 Exposure to the IT and telecommunications sector strongly preferred
 
 Experience collaborating with colleagues in a diverse set of levels, functions and geographies preferred
 
 
  Preferred Qualifications 
 
 The ability to understand the benefits of Ciena’s solutions and phrase these in terms of their value to service providers, solution providers and end customers
 
 English-fluent technology journalistic writing ability, either through experience in media or in writing for it, such as in public relations or blogging
 
 Experience creating or managing visual content, such as graphic design and video production
 
 Comfortable working with several internal clients simultaneously in a team distributed across Asia Pacific and North America 
 
 Experience adhering to brand guidelines and driving content through approvals within a multinational organization
 
 Self-motivated with strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation, project and time management skills
 
 Self-motivated to enthusiastically cover responsibilities proactively rather than wait for actions
