Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Lead – Solutions Engineering to lead and manage the development, implementation, and optimization of automation solutions within our projects. This role requires deep technical expertise in automation systems, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of engineering principles, with an emphasis on automation technology applied to maritime operations. The Lead will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of automation initiatives, ensuring they meet client needs, performance goals, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Automation Solution Design & Implementation Lead the design and deployment of automation systems tailored to the maritime industry, including vessel automation, IoT systems, and process control. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and objectives for automation solutions. Oversee the development, integration, and testing of automation systems to ensure they meet client specifications and industry standards. Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership and guidance to the automation engineering team, ensuring they adhere to best practices in automation design and implementation. Stay updated on the latest automation technologies, trends, and regulations relevant to the maritime industry. Oversee troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of automation systems to ensure continuous improvement and reliability. Project Management & Execution Lead and manage automation projects from inception to completion, ensuring all aspects of design, integration, and testing are on schedule. Develop and manage detailed project plans, allocate resources, and ensure successful project delivery. Identify risks and manage mitigation strategies to ensure automation projects are delivered on time and within budget. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary point of contact for automation-related queries and decisions with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Work closely with product managers, engineers, and clients to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of project progress. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement Lead efforts to optimize existing automation systems and processes to improve performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Implement automation strategies that align with business goals and deliver measurable improvements in operational productivity. Drive innovation by exploring and implementing new automation technologies that enhance system capabilities and performance. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure all automation systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Develop and enforce quality assurance processes to maintain the highest standards in system design, testing, and performance. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Experience 10+ years of experience in automation engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience working with automation systems in the maritime, industrial, or related sectors. Proven track record of leading successful automation projects from concept to deployment. Technical Skills Expertise in automation control systems, PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and related automation technologies. Strong knowledge of IoT, data analytics, and integration of automated systems with existing infrastructure. Familiarity with maritime automation systems, digitalization trends, and regulatory standards is preferred. Certifications Certifications in automation systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2) are highly desirable.
