Rice Traders

Rice Trader - Agricultural commodities, Physical, SE Asia. Location; Asia - Singapore:

We are hiring for a  global commodity trading house, seeking a self-motivated rice trader to head our operations in Singapore. The candidate would be responsible for driving business mainly across the existing markets of Asia and Africa, while also looking to expand to new markets. The candidate should have a good knowledge of this market and should have some key selling experience.

Responsibilities

•   Responsible for the PNL of the Rice trade desk
•   Responsible for refining / further developing on the existing demand and growth forecasting models for the rice business
•   Building and enhancing the Rice desk with key rice supply-demand analysis
•   Monitoring the day to day developments in the Rice market and industry
•   Part of the team for developing growth strategies across all agri commodities
•   Working with the team to develop systems for efficient operations
•   Enhancing sourcing and marketing at branches, and to develop new customers in geographies where we do not have our own set up
•   Review and enhancing efficiency of shipping where required to synergize with Rice trades

Requirements

•   Have at least 8 years of trading (physicals) experience in the Rice industry
•   Strong understanding of Global rice market
•   Experience handling bulk businesses preferred
•   High initiative taking
•   Strong intrapreneurial skills
•   Highly numerate, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build long term sustainable relationships
•   Prior experience with distribution or stock-sales models preferred
