Job Title –Senior Database Administrator

The Purpose of This Role

Application Lead - DBA role is a horizontal Production Database Support team under CAPE in Fidelity’s Technology Services. This team supports various databases to manage WI critical applications for the business. WI Database Administration Support group provides database services related to the Oracle infrastructure for multiple clients facing applications.

Production Support which includes 7x12 on call support, Database Infrastructure Support, performance monitoring, 1st level performance troubleshooting, Risk/Audit compliance and Non-Production database refreshes. Database and Oracle Application Maintenance includes Oracle Database upgrades, Database reorganizations, Security Patching, Application Upgrades.

• Database Administrator is core member of Application Database Support team working on Linux Servers and Oracle databases mainly to ensure stability and availability for Business critical applications. DBA should be able to collaborate with multiple teams to,

• Providing database application life cycle support.

• Database design, development and implementation.

• Responsible for backup, recovery and upgrading of postgres databases. ETL and data-warehouse design experience.

• Proficient with major PostgreSQL procedural languages viz, PL/PgSQL as well some Oracle SQL-PL/SQL.

• Configuring Postgres Streaming Replication, Logical replication, BARMAN, EFM and Load balancing.

• Managing monitoring tools for better performance like PGbadger

Oracle EBS DBA knowledge-

Should have working knowledge on -
  

• Oracle DB 19c and 12.2.9 version in EBS environment.

• Refresh: Production to NonProd refresh management.
  
  

• Patching: Experience in analysis and application of DB patch, EBusiness Application patch (CPU patch, rollup patch, Maintenance patch and one-off patch).  good exposure to adop, adpatch and opatch utility.
  
  

• Lead DR Tests for EBS R12 application ensuring to meet the agreed RTO and RPO timelines.
  
  

• Maintenance/monitoring of servers using OEM tool.
  
  

• Monitoring and troubleshooting of Apache, Forms, Concurrent Manager and database related issues.
  
  

• Good exposure of using Oracle performance tools like AWR reports, TKPROF, SQL Trace, expdp/impdp (user level, table space level, and DB level), analyze tablespaces and Indexes.

• Should have knowledge in Configuring, Monitoring and Administering through OEM

You would be able to contribute in maintaining stability of our databases by upkeeping infrastructure uptime through appropriate security patches, upgrades and database monitoring, managing the stakeholder’s deliverables, being a mentor for group of DBA’s on technology front and especially managing the performance of databases to meet the service timelines. Being a change agent to adapt to new technologies.
