Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Software Engineering, the Java Software Engineer analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs for FHIR compliant requirements. Code may be used in commercial and end user applications/middleware FHIR components. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

This position will contribute to FHIR India team, and the focus is Availity’s payer product line and utilization management.

Location: Manyata Tech Park, Nagawara, Bangalore (Hybrid work-place)

To be qualified for this position:

· 5+ years of progressive work experience designing & developing solutions for business initiatives in healthcare technology Product portfolio or relevant areas.

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

· Proficient in Java, J2EE, Spring boot with a good knowledge of its ecosystems.

· Proficiency with the Microsoft cloud ecosystem including Appservices, Azure Functions, Service Bus etc or AWS cloud ecosystem including EC2, Lambda, EKS, RDS etc

· Experience in Microservice, Redis/Mem cache

· Familiarity/Experience with: Java Profiling and load testing, Memory Management, System Reliability.

· Applies Object Oriented Design (OOD) principles.

· Understands database design principles & query language.

· Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git or DevOps.

You will set yourself apart:

• Hands on development/design/application system design experience; Java

• Extensive knowledge of the health care/payer insurance industry

• AWS or Azure or multi cloud native development and design experience

Video Camera Usage:

Availity fosters a collaborative and open culture where communication and engagement are central to our success.  As a remote first company, we are also camera-first and provide all associates with camera/video capability to simulate the office environment.
