Description

Clontarf Hospital provides post-acute rehabilitation services to patients transferred from acute hospitals with a variety of conditions and rehabilitation needs including: post Covid, post elective and trauma orthopaedic surgery, frail older adults, post-acute medical conditions, multiple co-morbidities, post amputee, post neuro surgery and neurological conditions

Post: Senior Dietitian

Under the direction of: Chief Executive Officer

Accountable to : Chief Executive Officer

Contract : Permanent (either full or part time)

Hours: 0.5WTE (17.5hrs) or 1.0WTE (35hrs)

Salary : Healthcare March 2023 pay-scales will apply to this post

Duties :

  • Carry a clinical caseload appropriate to the post and ensure that a high standard of clinical nutrition care is provided to all patients.
  • Day to Day responsibility for the clinical nutrition service including coordinating the workload and daily management of the service.
  • Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised nutrition treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best practice.
  • Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with clients, their families and other team members as appropriate.
  • Be responsible for developing resources for clients, ward staff, catering staff and families in line with the clinical needs of the service.
  • Communicate and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best clinical outcomes for the patients.
  • Develop effective communication with and provide instruction, guidance and support to all service users, their families, carers etc.

Essential Criteria for consideration:

I. Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU

II. Have 3 years full time (or an aggregate of 3 years full time) post qualification dietetic experience

III. Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office

IV. Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued
