Role Objective
This position reports to the Head of Business Systems and Service Delivery and will be
responsible for the Technology elements of project delivery, including planning, vendor
management and resource management and co-ordination and liaising with business project
teams associated with the business change strategy. The role will involve project
management through all phases from initiation to testing and delivery and will bring exposure
to a wide range of IT systems and IT processes. The role will require a self-motivated/self-
sufficient candidate and is a key role in ensuring the success of our business as part of a
small local IT team.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage Projects and associated milestones throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop and maintain project plans and coordinate with various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
- Monitor project progress continuously and make scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
- Communicate proactively with all involved personnel, including vendors in Spain, to provide direction, identify problems and co-ordinate solutions.
- Maintain overview of all on-going tech projects and provide programme level management and reporting to IT management.
Required skills and experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience within a Technical or Technical Project Management role ideally in consumer finance (however broader retail financial services experience considered, i.e. general insurance, retail banking, fintech).
- Demonstrable project management and project leadership skills supported by a strong track record of delivery.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects
- Strong problem solving skills. Able to develop solutions to project or BAU issues and lead a group through to delivery.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently. Will be expected to lead projects and work on own initiative.
- Well organised and able to multi-task and deliver both tactical and higher profile projects to tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships and influence a diverse group of personnel and management levels, including Line of Business teams, local IT, vendors and working with remote Group IT teams.
- Strong communication, organisational and project implementation skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong technical skills would be a definite advantage - the role will have some access to technical analysts but knowledge of the technical elements of application architectures and implementations will increase the efficiency of the role.
- Experience on Office365, Dynamics CRM, Azure, Microservices, API and 3rd party integration a distinct advantage.
