Tomorrow's Guides' incredible growth has created an opportunity for us to add a Node.JS Developer to the team to help drive the development of our industry-leading care websites and review engine.

The development team is responsible for managing care home reviews and ratings data through a number of internal and public-facing APIs, as well as creating the CRM systems and third party integrations that provide support for the customer-facing websites. 

The team also provides APIs, portals and management systems for our US partners.

This is a remote position that will require some commuting to West Berkshire on a quarterly basis for a two-day developer meetup.

 

The Role

You will be a key part in developing our new Node.JS platform using a modular micro service based architecture.

We develop in Typescript using Node.JS with Express for our back-end services, and React for our web applications. We deploy regularly using CI/CD pipelines to create containerised images that run in our Azure environment.

We use a mix of Node servers and Azure functions, connected by service bus queues and topics to move data between our systems.

We choose the most appropriate storage solutions for our various systems, currently a mix of SQL Server, MongoDB and also Azure Cosmos.

Working in a mixed-skill pod with four other developers you will tackle entirely new system projects as well as the migration of existing systems.

Requirements

• Minimum five years’ experience of Node.js
• Experience developing with a modern front end framework
• Familiarity with Git
• Designing/implementing with RESTful APIs and Microservices
• Ability to interact with SQL/NoSQL databases and write performant queries
• Flexible skillset covering a wide range of development

Salary and Benefits:
