Overview: Viakorp Corporation is seeking an experienced Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Specialist to conduct a Phase I ESA in accordance with ASTM Standard E-1527-05 for a 7.32-acre parcel of land located at the University of Tennessee Research and Education Center, Milan, Gibson County, TN. This position requires comprehensive environmental assessment skills to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local requirements.
Position Title: Geologist
Location: Milan, Tennessee
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting Phase I and II ESAs.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Registered Environmental Manager, Certified Environmental Professional).
  • Experience with USDA or similar federal agencies is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform assessments in accordance with ASTM Standard E-1527-05, 40 CFR 312, and 33 CFR 137.
  • Evaluate the full range of environmental issues and liabilities, including those under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, and petroleum products.
  • Review relevant records, conduct site reconnaissance, and interview key personnel.
