Job Description - Sports Coordinator

The International University of Science & Technology in Kuwait (IUK) is a newly established private university in Kuwait, with a new Campus located in the heart of Kuwait near the Avenues Mall. Fully accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC), the University offers a wide range of academic programs in Engineering, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. In addition to the academic programs, the IUK has established the University Foundation Program (UFP) that offers English and Math foundation programs.



IUK is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sports Coordinator to join our Student life Department. 


 


Job Summary:


The Sports Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing sports programs and activities for a variety of age groups. This role involves coordinating events, managing logistics, recruiting and training staff, and ensuring a positive and safe environment for all participants.


 


Key Responsibilities:



  • Program Development: Design, implement, and evaluate sports programs that meet the needs of the community.

  • Event Coordination: Organize and manage sports events, tournaments, and competitions, including scheduling, logistics, and on-site management.

  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise coaches, referees, and volunteers; provide ongoing support and performance evaluations.

  • Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the sports program budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant safety regulations and organizational policies; conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.

  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and local sports clubs to promote participation and collaboration.

  • Communication: Develop promotional materials, communicate schedules, and provide information to participants and parents; handle inquiries and feedback.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of participant registrations, event outcomes, and financial transactions.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in sports program coordination or event management preferred.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Knowledge of various sports rules and regulations.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
