Systems Analyst

Job Overview:

The Systems Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the university's reporting and Banner (Ellucian) system operations by designing, developing, and optimizing reports. This role is responsible for database management, system analysis, integration, and automation to improve efficiency in academic and administrative processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Databases, and reporting tools, with experience in student information systems (SIS) being a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Report & Banner System Support:

• Design and develop reports to meet various business and academic needs.


• Extract and analyze data from Banner (Ellucian) to generate insightful reports.


• Troubleshoot and optimize existing reports for accuracy, efficiency, and performance.

Database Management & Development:

• Support reporting and application development through Oracle Database administration.


• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for efficient data retrieval.


• Ensure data integrity, security, and efficient database performance.

System Analysis & Integration:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for reporting and system enhancements.


• Assist in integrating Banner with other university applications to improve workflow efficiency.


• Monitor system performance and recommend technical improvements.

Application & Reporting Automation:

• Support automation of student records and academic data reports to improve efficiency.


• Utilize SQL, PL/SQL, and reporting tools to streamline reporting processes.


• Provide technical support and training to end-users on reporting functionalities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.


• Experience in Oracle Databases, SQL, and reporting tools is essential.


• Prior experience with Ellucian Banner or other Student Information Systems (SIS) is a plus.


• Database Management: Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL.


• Reporting Tools: Experience with Report, JasperReports, Power BI, Tableau, Argos, or similar.


• Application Development (Preferred): Basic understanding of Java, Python, Oracle Forms, or C#.


• ERP & System Integration: Familiarity with ERP systems, API integrations, and cloud computing is beneficial.
