Job Description

Job description:

  • Comprehensively providing client and portfolio management services for several dedicated fund mandates in the alternative sector (Private Equity / Real Estate / Infrastructure / Debt / Fund of Funds), ensuring customer satisfaction and development of the client relationship.
  • Assuming the lead role for such clients and key service providers (e.g. investment advisors, delegated portfolio managers, depositaries, and fund administrators). This means:

For fund mandates under the advisory model of portfolio management:

    • Ensuring competent and timely execution of portfolio transactions on behalf of the fund, including (i) review of investment presentations and the respective recommendations from the Investment Advisor and flagging any issues, (ii) performing ex-ante and ex-post compliance checks including coordination of asset-level AML checks, (iii) drafting the relevant transaction board minutes and convening the board, (iv) presentation of the transaction to the board of the Company for approval, (v) follow-through of the deal to completion.

For fund mandates under the delegation model of portfolio management:

    • Ensuring appropriate ex-ante involvement in portfolio transactions in advance of execution by the Delegated Portfolio Manager, notably with respect to the coordination of the risk management reviews with the risk management team, and valuation reviews with the valuation team.
    • Ensuring competent and timely monitoring of portfolio management activities undertaken by the Delegated Portfolio Manager, through the effective use of quarterly KPIs.
  • Preparation of quarterly AIFM board meetings for the relevant funds, including the drafting of minutes, compilation of the board pack, and presentation of the previous quarter’s activities of the relevant funds to the board of the Company.
  • Maintenance of corporate and operational documentation related to the funds, including record keeping of board meeting minutes, drafting and regular reviews and update of the operating memorandum, etc.
  • Active involvement in the set-up phase and onboarding of any new assigned mandates, including the review of fund documents, relevant agreements and operating memorandum.
  • Participation in project work, aimed at (i) the continued improvement of our service delivery and efficiency (process/procedure development, automation, standardisation) and (ii) compliance with the latest regulatory developments.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • University degree in economics or law
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience with Luxembourg AIFs, ideally within an AIFM
  • Experience and ability to communicate well with clients in a high-profile environment
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Fluency in English, with German being a significant advantage

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good team spirit
  • Ability to take ownership of daily workload and document the status of deliverables
  • Solutions-oriented mind-set, with the ability to balance business needs with applicable laws
  • Ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure whilst delivering within agreed deadlines
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work methodically and accurately
  • Initiative for continuous self-development as well as improvement of internal processes
