- Well versed with legal requirement eg. Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA 1994), Factory Machinery Act (FMA) & Environment Quality Act (EQA)
- Able to interact with local authorities, consultants, contractors and all levels of staffs
- Strong communication and reporting skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Responsibilities:
1.Responsible to implement and monitor company Occupational Safety & Health program and policies to meet the requirements of the OSH Acts & its regulations. Ensure that the Company is in compliance with Department of Safety & Health (DOSH), Factory and Machinery Act and Fire Services Department regulations
2.Identify and report potential hazards and unsafe practice that may cause any form of injury or damage to Company property
3.Plan schedule and conduct safety audits.
4.Enforce of Security, Safety, Health & Environment (SSHE) regulations introduced by the Company among employees and including sub-contractors:
a) Check if materials including chemical are safely handled, stored and usedb) Carry out audit and inspection at plant or construction work sites to ensure compliance
c) Monitoring and carry out inspection of firefighting facilities and safety equipment, machinery, workplaces or site/factory. Ensure suitable protective equipment (PPE) is provided, used correctly and compliance with safety policies at all times
d) Conduct mock drills, safety training/briefing for employees and sub-contractors on OSH and emergency procedures
e) Ensure that proper safety awareness display boards and warning signs are installed at relevant locations
f) Maintain records of the safety inspection and audit
5. Required to prevent occupational injury illness and ensure that all incidents are properly recorded and reported to management and relevant authority. Timely investigation is carried out to establish and rectify root causes and prevent recurrence.
