We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible to ensure our infrastructure works smoothly, without unnecessary downtime and a consistently good performance. Together with your team members, you will be taking care of our servers. You will work in an international environment and will work closely with our colleagues in Amsterdam.
Ensure high stability/availability and quality of our IT infrastructure in all its aspects, with a special focus on our mission-critical databases, queues and systems performance
Develop, implement and maintain a technology roadmap that keeps our IT infrastructure future proof
Provide technical input in business development discussions, internally as well as with our partners
Serve as a technical expert for complex IT infrastructure
Recommend the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications.
What will you be doing?
Own the creation, implementation, and optimization of all display activity for your markets to drive revenue for the business.
Leverage data and analytics tools to determine the effectiveness of campaigns and constantly optimize.
Collaborate with other teams (Business Development, Design, Data & Tech) to bring campaigns to life.
Identify and test new verticals and funnels.
Support the growth of different markets according to their needs.
Find and test potential new marketing channels/traffic sources.
Spearhead growth of Google Ads and other new traffic sources.
Manage relationships with media owners.
Operations:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure
Detect, diagnose, and report system or database/network-related problems on our infrastructure
Take ownership of any incident, lead the post-mortem process, and improve incident response processes
Build effective monitoring to monitor the health of our system.
Build and run capacity and stress tests to manage the growth of your systems
Design, create, own, and maintain our systems and service deployments (AWS based)
Continuously improve our infrastructure for better scalability, security, and fault tolerance.
Other tasks:
Update yourself with new technological developments and recommend ways to take advantage of new technology
Maintain & update our internal wiki with technical documentation of our setup
Participate in weekly rotational stand-by shifts to provide out-of-office system support.
What do we expect from you?
In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix systems
Mastery in at least one programming language
Experience with systems for automating deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications
A solid understanding of fundamental technologies like TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS
Experience in cloud-based systems (AWS)
Strong knowledge and experience in CM (Salt, Ansible)
Accustomed with monitoring tools such as Zenoss, Grafana, Prometheus
Excellent knowledge of Apache, Docker, NGINX
Experience/knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redshift
The ability to work in a stressful and time-critical environment
To be analytical, results-driven, proactive and flexible
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
