Staff Accountant - US GAAP (Guadalajara)

MezTal is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant with a strong knowledge of US GAAP to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing the full cycle of accounting, including but not limited to general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP standards. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with month-end closing activities in compliance with US GAAP.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Perform account analyses and prepare supporting documentation for financial audits.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping and reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules and tax returns.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial documents and reports.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting ONLY
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience, particularly in a role with US GAAP compliance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and US GAAP principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
