Translator-reviser from English to Spanish (Latam) in the rail transportation industry

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Revise texts of varying complexity in the rail transportation industry for a Canadian company from English to Spanish (Latam), upholding the high-quality standards of Alexa Translations and the terminology and stylistic preferences of our clients.
• Translate general, marketing, and technical material from English to Spanish (Latam) as required.
• Provide coaching and feedback to translators and answer questions.
• Contribute to the improvement of the artificial intelligence-based neural translation tool Alexa Translations A.I., including attending meetings with the research and development team.

Profile Required

• Six or more years of experience in translation and revision.
• Knowledge of the rail transportation industry.
• Undergraduate degree in translation (from English to Spanish).
• Any experience working at a translation firm or for the language services division of a company will be considered an asset.

Qualities Required

• Strong interest in translation technologies and knowledge of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools.
• Excellent knowledge of the English and Spanish languages, both spoken and written.
• Excellent knowledge of rail transportation industry terminology.
• Professional rigor and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines and work efficiently.
