We are recruiting for a Category Manager CAPEX & MRO

Your main challenge will be to optimize our spare parts processes across 31 factories in Europe, starting with 5 in Germany. Beyond this, you may participate in various international Capex and MRO projects. You will collaborate closely with our newly formed team of Category Managers for Capex and MRO, responsible for sourcing maintenance materials and services, capital equipment, and infrastructure solutions globally under optimal conditions.

You and your team will engage with CAPEX and MRO suppliers, leveraging market intelligence to offer competitive solutions to the Intersnack Group’s operating companies. Your key responsibilities will include initiating cost savings, identifying risks, monitoring portfolio positions, and executing category strategy plans. This role provides high visibility and close collaboration with the senior leadership team at Intersnack.

The Category Manager reports to the Senior Category Manager for CAPEX and MRO and is ideally based in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Responsibilities:

- Support the procurement development and execution of strategically defined CAPEX & MRO sub-categories across Intersnack Group, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.

- Act as a central link between local factory needs, central Engineering, and Procurement strategies for assigned categories.

- Support major MRO and Capex contract negotiations and lead smaller local contract discussions.

- Regularly report on MRO and Capex market trends through insights gathered from suppliers and trade shows.

- Collaborate with stakeholders across Europe to develop and implement a project pipeline focused on sustainable cost reduction.

- Address operational issues such as efficiency improvements, supply disruptions, and contractual disputes with suppliers as needed.

- Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned by your manager.

- Support your team and the organization in the consistent application of policies and objectives.

In addition, we ask for:

- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering or a related field.

- Procurement experience (4+ years) or strong affinity for capital equipment & MRO, ideally in collaboration with Engineering.

- Supply chain/warehouse management experience advantageous.

- The ability to speak the language of engineers and operations.

- Fluent spoken and written English and German; additional language skills are a plus.

- An assertive, convincing personality with a commercial and competitive mindset.

- The ability to develop strong working relationships and be a valuable team player.

- Personal drive, proactivity, a results-oriented mindset, and business acumen.

- Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally, mainly within Europe (up to 30%).
