Job Description - Lead Product Designer (UX/UI)

Chooose builds software to enable the lower carbon fuel value chains in hard-to-abate sectors.

Companies like Alaska Airlines, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, and Flexport use the Chooose platform to build, operate and scale their SAF programs, and to advance voluntary and compliance carbon initiatives.

With offices in Oslo and Miami, and remote employees across the US and Europe, we are a mission-oriented team that is scaling our business and climate impact in tandem. The company has raised $50M from leading venture capital and strategic investors.

In this role, you will help chart our course into the future as we evolve from a transactional product to a product suite that includes a heavy UX/UI SaaS offering.  You will be critical to defining problems and building out climate tech solutions from 0 -> 1 for aviation, travel, and maritime companies.  Working closely with a small team of designers and many stakeholders, we aspire for this new joiner to work through design problems from beginning to end covering UX research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.

This is a full-time, in-person role for candidates based in Oslo. Remote candidates in CET are also welcome to apply for B2B contractor arrangement.

\nWhat you'll do
  • Take point on ensuring we offer an intuitive, supportive experience for our partners to manage their decarbonization efforts
  • Translate insights from research into concepts that form new products and features, design the detailed workflows and interactions required to make them a reality
  • Engage in user research to better understand our users and refine our products
  • Work closely with engineering, product management, and cross-functional teams to define and execute the product strategy
  • Bounce between company objectives and the granular feature level minutiae that define a wonderful product
What you'll bring to the table
  • 5 + years of product design experience
  • A love for crafting high-quality, valuable solutions and getting them in front of customers
  • A growth mindset and willingness to own ambiguous problems
  • A portfolio of product experiences that solved real problems, and that people use
  • Capable at time boxing low fidelity explorations and getting feedback from stakeholders
  • When required, adept at high fidelity mock-ups and interactive Figma prototypes
  • Bonus points for experience in climatetech, fintech, or other highly regulated industries

The interview process

At Chooose, we prioritize transparency throughout our interview process. After reviewing your portfolio, if your qualifications look like a fit, we’ll begin with 1-2 introductory conversations where you'll have the chance to discuss your experience and learn more about our company. The second phase is two back-to-back sessions. In the first session you'll present a portfolio review for a small panel of 2-4 team members. Following your portfolio review, session two is a one-on-one chat with another team member. The third and final phase consists of a one-on-one conversation with a member of our executive team. The process should take approx. ~4 weeks. While we strive to keep to this timeline, the occasional adjustment may occur; we’re focused on ensuring for enough time to get to know one another.

**Applications must include a portfolio (and any necessary password) to be considered**

Pay, perks, & more

We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, the option to participate in our employee equity program, flexible work hours, and a modern co-working office located in central Oslo, Norway.
