Senior Frontend Developer

For this role, we are hiring both in Poland (Wrocław, Krakow), and in Norway (Oslo).

Team

As a frontend developer at Kahoot!, you will be part of a flat-structured team that values and encourages developer-led initiatives. You will work cross-functionally with engineers, designers, PMs, and testers on our learning platform, creating new, exciting game features and presentation tools. You will have an active role in maintaining and improving these core products.

Responsibilities

• Crafting new web apps and new features for the Kahoot! platform
• Working on responsive web design to ensure stability across a large variety of devices
• Specializing in web application development and working closely with the rest of the team to come up with the best solutions
• Collaborating with back-end developers to help design the APIs needed to support new features and develop the matching client code
• Taking a regular and active role in providing user

• BSc Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience with front-end development
• Hands-on experience with React
• Proficiency in JavaScript and some experience with statically typed languages
• Experience working on a web app project with a large JavaScript codebase
• Experience with TypeScript
• A deep understanding of DOM, HTML, CSS, accessibility, and cross-browser support, including mobile browsers

Nice to have

• Experience working with Remix (Server Side Rendering)
• Experience working with RxJS or equivalent technologies
• Experience with front-end testing frameworks, such as Jest, Vitest, Playwright/Puppeteer & Cypress
• Experience scaling applications to support high volume traffic / millions of users
• Basic knowledge of how the backend works
• Experience with GitHub Actions

You will be successful in this role with:

• Proven success / track record working within a cross functional team
• Willingness to engage meaningfully with our large community of passionate front-end developers
• Experience working on a large codebase with many contributors.
• Interest in education and pedagogy.
