Position Summary:
Tribune Therapeutics is a VC-backed, semi-virtual biotech company offering a dynamic workplace with opportunities to expand your experience in multiple aspects of research and drug development. We are seeking motivated individuals who are eager to acquire new skills beyond their previous area of expertise.
We are seeking two scientists with the designations of Scientist or Senior scientist depending on the individual candidate’s qualifications. These positions are full-time and will report to a Principal Scientist. In-person presence at the Tribune Therapeutics laboratory at Forskningsparken in Oslo is a requirement. In addition to salary, we offer short- and long-term incentives (i.e. yearly bonus and employee share option program).
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of independently designing, efficiently executing and interpreting experiments as part of larger projects. The successful applicant has extensive experience with cell-based assays and a strong scientific background, preferably in immunology and/or fibrosis. He/she will be responsible for laboratory work to support ongoing non-clinical discovery and development projects.
Main responsibilities including but not limited to:
· Develop/establish cell-based and non-cell-based assays and write SOPs for newly established assays.
· Run and document cell-based assays with primary cells and cell lines, e.g. chemotaxis, phosphorylation assay, flow cytometry
· Run and document non-cell-based assays, e.g. protein characterization assays such as endotoxin testing, protein concentration determination, HPLC analyzes, ELISAs etc.
· Evaluate commercial and custom reagents, e.g. mAbs.
· Analyze and present data for internal and external use.
Other laboratory responsibilities:
· Be responsible for monitoring and tracking the progress of specific projects against approved timelines, budgets, and milestones
· Contribute to the implementation of best practices and procedures in the lab to ensure the right quality as the stage of development and specific tasks require it
· Contribute to the documenting/ensuring proper documentation of assays/laboratory experiments/critical laboratory equipment performed/utilized by self and other team members.
· Contribute to laboratory logistics and consumables ordering.
· Contribute to internal and possibly external communication about laboratory activities.
Required qualifications:
· Master’s degree in relevant natural science and 5+ years’ experience with cell-based assays in industry setting (biotech, pharma or CRO) or another regulated environment,
or
· PhD in which cell-based assays have been the main experimental approach and 2+ years’ experience with research and development in industry setting (biotech, pharma or CRO, preferred),
or
· PhD and post doc (3+ years’) in the fields of fibrosis, immunology or receptor pharmacology in which cell-based assays have been the main experimental approach
and
· Ability to independently design and interpret experiments and optimize assays
· Fluent in English (English is the working language at Tribune)
Differentiating qualifications for the ideal candidate:
· Experience with high-throughput assays (96-well and above)
· Experimental experience in pharmacology
· Experimental experience in immunology
· Experimental experience in metabolism
· Experience with sc/snRNAseq
· Experience with developing PD-assays based on liquid biopsies
· Experience with GraphPad Prism
· Experience with drug discovery and development in an industry setting (biotech, pharma or CRO)
· Understanding of antibody-based assays and experience in executing antibody-based assays
· Conceptualized and secured funding for R&D projects (e.g. written a granted application for a research project/position)
· Other relevant scientific experience complementary to the team
