Fine Tours Group - FTG (New Zealand Fine Touring - NZFT and Inside Australia Travel - IAT) is a technology enabled travel business with a market opportunity and momentum to grow rapidly in both New Zealand and Australian markets.

FTG operates a multichannel strategy, selling travel predominately to international, and also some local visitors. We are currently seeking a Front-end Developer to join our growing team in Wanaka! As our Front-End Developer, you'll work closely with our designer to bring their visions to life. You'll be instrumental in building and maintaining our new web presence, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience across all platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact and grow with our company.

What does the role look like?

• Collaborate closely with our designer to translate mockups and wireframes into high-quality, responsive web applications.
• Develop and maintain user-facing features using React.js.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented CSS (including preprocessors like Sass or Less is a plus) to create visually appealing and consistent designs.
• Implement dynamic and interactive elements using JavaScript (ES6+).
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Identify and troubleshoot front-end issues and bugs.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Front-End Developer.
• Deep understanding of CSS and its application in creating responsive and visually appealing layouts.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and its core principles.
• Solid experience with React.js and its ecosystem (e.g., Redux, Context API, React Router).
• Experience with modern front-end build tools and workflows (e.g., Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn).
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
• A genuine enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Bonus points for:

• Experience with CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less).
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
• Experience with API integration.
• Understanding of SEO principles and accessibility guidelines.
