Specifications Writer

Requirements and Experience:

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture;

Registered and licensed Architect (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam) is an advantage;

Preferably with professional in Design & Construction or equivalent; has at least 5 years of specifications writing experience for complex buildings such as commercial, residential, hospitality developments;

Must be aware of the products on the market, and he or she keeps a library of catalogs and other information for designers and architects to use;

Strong computer knowledge in 2D and 3D software; knowledge in BIM is an advantage;

Excellent written and oral communication skills, negotiating and interpersonal skills.



Duties and Responsibilities:

Specializes and designated according to engineering specialization, product, or process;

Interprets the format, writing style and specifications language in the technical specifications;

Reviews architectural or engineering plans and prepares material lists and specifications (CSI Masterformat Version) and technical descriptions of materials to be used as standards by field worker or contracting personnel in material processing or in manufacturing or construction activities;

Analyzes plans and drawings, observes and takes notes on the process to determine material needed or specifications, qualities for manufacturing procedures or construction activities;

Instructs builders on how to use the materials;

Provide legal protection for the owner, the architect, the contractor, and any other people involved in a construction project;

Presents the plans and specifications to construction firms and asks them to submit a bid, or price quote in the bidding process;

Ensures the technical specifications and documentation formats are aligned across the contract of bid;

Monitor progress and report on status and forecast target dates as agreed with clients;

Identify and categorize component specifications of performance, defects, issues, enhancements and testing requirements to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
