DevOps Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Position: DevOps Engineer
Report to: Technical Services Manager
Department: Information Systems Team
Area: Group of Companies

• Collaborate with in-house or outsourced software developers and system operators to build, test and maintain the infrastructure and tools to allow for the speedy development and release of software.
• Automate infrastructure. Configure server images and network infrastructure and optimize overall system performance.
• Establish performance, error & uptime monitoring and alerts across different systems.
• Secures cloud infrastructure based on best practices.
• Support data migration, reporting requirements, information extraction and analysis.
• Participates in architecture and software development activities.
• Translates defined requirements into implementable and practical solutions.
• Uses coding languages and scripting methodologies to solve a problem; must be modular and reusable.
• Collaborates with others to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.
• Performs incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.
• Evaluates open source projects for requirement fit and possible rollout.
• Cloud cost control --- monitoring and reduction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 yrs or above (better) as a DevOps Engineer is a MUST
• Good oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service.
• Process-oriented with great documentation (cloud diagram, network diagram, system architecture and components) skills.
• Knowledge of cloud best practices and operations, including security.
• Experience with Agile Software development methodologies.
• Can automate and implement solutions using scripts or programming language.
• Experience with source code control and CI/CD.
• Knowledgeable in common hardware and software systems used in the IT industry.
• Flexible, passionate for work, team player.
