Job Description - OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spearheads the development and updating of Company Occupational Health Policies, Programs Procedures and Work Instructions, and ensures that these are adhered to by the employees and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
  • Performs health examinations and provides emergency and palliative care and treatment (i.e., first aid, checking of vital signs, health interview, dispensing of medicines) to the employees within the legal scope of nursing, and refers the employee to the OHP if an extensive examination is needed.
  • Maintains employees' health records and submits regulatory reports to DOLE and the Department of Health (DOH) on a timely basis.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources and Environment & Safety Departments for the implementation of the Company's COVID protocols and Control Programs.
  • Conducts contact-tracing reports for confirmed and suspected COVID-19 cases.
  • Assists OHP by providing nursing care.
  • Assesses and determines the health status of employees.
  • Renders home visitation and plant rounds.
  • Participates in Emergency Preparedness and Response Programs.
  • Conducts SHE Orientation and facilitates training for health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Summarizes the Occupational Health Performance of the Company on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinates with HMO Coordinator for the Annual Physical Exam.
  • Disseminates health information and maintains employee health records.
  • Prepares and submits Annual and Medical Reports to DOLE & DOH.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License and an active member of the Occupational Health Association of the Philippines.
  • Completion of 50 hours Basic Occupational Safety and Health training for Nurses.
  • At least 1 year of work experience in Occupational Health, preferably in a Manufacturing Industry.
  • Knowledgeable in constitutional legislations, regulations, and modern trends related to OSH.
  • Ability to take initiative and to work with less supervision.
  • Ability to uphold and maintain confidentiality.
  • Resourceful and flexible.
