Part-Time Bookkeeper (AU Construction, WFH)

What are we looking for?

Skills Required:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with Xero accounting software, including daily bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and invoicing.
• Experience with Australian Payroll is advantageous
• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance roles, ideally within construction or contracting industries.
• Familiarity with invoice checking, payment runs, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of GST rates and tax-related tasks in accounting, specifically within Australia or New Zealand.
• Strong proficiency in Xero for various accounting tasks, including reconciliations and invoicing.
• Ability to create ABA files for payment runs and understand financial statements.
• Competency in using Excel, particularly for tasks like creating pivot tables for reports.
• Familiarity with financial report generation, such as Accounts Payable Listings and EOM (End of Month) reports.
• Experience with Procore, Lentune, or similar construction management software would be highly advantageous (not required- open training candidate)

What will you do?

• Daily Xero bank account reconciliations
• Monthly claim creation in Xero
• Creation of Accounts Payable
• Checking draft invoices when uploaded from Procore/ Lentune (open training candidates with no prior experience using mentioned tools)
• Ensuring new employees are entered correctly into Xero payroll module any changes to current employees’ remuneration are recorded correctly in Xero payroll module
• Driving weekly/monthly payroll processing
• Ensuring superannuation and payroll tax obligations are up to date
• Other ad-hoc duties as requested
