The Oracle Retail Xstore Business Consultant is responsible for participating in functional and process facets of Retail software implementations by applying retail industry knowledge, specialised payment expertise, and Retail software functionality. Due to the global nature of OLR's business, employees may be required to travel as part of their job duties.
This position is remote; however, the candidate is required to be located in Portugal. Occasionally, office days for meetings, training, and company events might occur.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the definition of project objectives, scope, processes, organization, timelines, and overall approach.
- Lead Business Impact Analysis (BIA) Session on POS and supporting OMNI applications (CRM, OMS, OB).
- Consider and define implementation and integration alternatives.
- Act as a contact for the system functionality advice and provide coaching to the client business process team users.
- Define system configuration requirements, identify gaps, and recommend system modifications and process changes to optimally satisfy business users.
- Document functional requirements for modifications and support the design process for the client.
- Escalate project issues that cannot be resolved within your sphere of influence/authority to the Project Manager as needed.
- Support multiple customer development and deployment projects by consulting on best practices for payment transactions, providing technical assistance, and custom solutions based on requirements.
- Work with internal development teams to write customer-based functional requirements and support the development of new products and technologies.
- Design hardware and software testing and evaluations for payment and tablet devices.
- Provide regular project updates to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business development and sales personnel to achieve technical support of the certification of payment by processors and consult on them to pre-sales customers.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of the functional capabilities and integration points of the Oracle Retail Xstore solution, as well as an in-depth understanding of payments and associated processes.
- Assist with driving test plan definition, creation, and execution, as well as go-live assessments as needed.
- Lead/Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with clients.
- Understanding of Oracle Retail Xstore solution functional concepts, integration points, and functional application knowledge.
- Demonstrable record in successful large-scale package software implementation.
- Demonstrable experience in the definition of business process definition and improvement.
- Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, and principles of project management.
- Ability to identify and proactively solve problems for Oracle Retail Xstore clients.
- Strong client negotiation and demonstrated consulting skills.
- Understands and demonstrates financial responsibility as related to the overall project budget and timelines.

- Experienced in EMV standards and certification.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering. Previous Implementation consulting or participation in large-scale integration projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of web-based reporting tools
- 5+ years of Oracle Retail Xstore-related experience
- 5+ years of direct retail operations experience, preferably across multiple retail sectors
