GrabJobs, the recruitment automation platform, has just added on-demand gig work as a new feature of their jobs marketplace.

This comes a few weeks after Uber officially announced their shift worker solution in the United States (https://techcrunch.com/2019/10/03/uber-launches-a-shift-work-finder-app-uber-works-starting-in-chicago/).

GrabJobs was previously known for having pioneered recruitment automation by developing an interview chatbot that screens applicants and schedules interviews on behalf of employers.

Until now, they had mainly targeted full-time jobs, recurring part-time jobs and internships. As market dynamics change, more businesses today are open to daily workers / gig workers to control costs and get quality work done, particularly for events in the hotel industry. “Having already built a large pool of companies and job seekers in the region, it just made sense for us to open up this additional offer on our platform to connect both parties quickly” says cofounder and CEO, Emmanuel Crouy.

In addition to regular positions, companies can use GrabJobs to post short-term, on-demand gig jobs such as Event Helpers, Banquet Staff and Brand Ambassadors.

GrabJobs focuses primarily on the F&B, Retail and Hospitality industries, with over 5,000 companies posting on its platform, including global brands such as Uniqlo, H&M, Paradise Group and Intercontinental Hotels. GrabJobs operates in both Singapore and Philippines and has plans to expand to Malaysia and Indonesia by end of the year.
