Job Purpose
The role holder is responsible for ensuring that shipbuilding projects are executed successfully by overseeing project timelines, contract compliance, and budget adherence. This includes providing the project team with essential information on project management, contract terms, cost controls, and safety procedures to enhance productivity. Additionally, the role holder is expected to share technical insights to strengthen team capabilities and maintain project standards, ensuring all activities are conducted safely, on time, and within the defined budget.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plan, execute, and monitor ship production projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and quality standards.
- Develop detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, develop contingency plans, and resolve issues that may impact project timelines and objectives.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Manage ship production contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and specifications.
- Review and negotiate contract terms and amendments, working closely with legal and procurement teams.
- Monitor contract deliverables, milestones, and obligations, ensuring timely completion and adherence to contractual requirements.
- Address contract-related issues, claims, and disputes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate contract records, documentation, and correspondence.
- Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, forecasts, and expenditure tracking.
- Monitor project costs and variances, identifying areas of concern and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct cost analysis, evaluate cost-saving opportunities, and recommend strategies to optimize costs.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and financial analysis.
- Participate in project cost audits and reviews, providing necessary documentation and insights.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, business administration, or equivalent.
Professional Qualifications:
MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist).
Experience:
9 - 15 years of experience in Ship Project Control or a similar role within the shipbuilding industry.
Languages:
Fluent in English (speaking, writing, reading). Fluency in Arabic beneficial.
