Job description
MANAGER, OUTDOOR ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND
The role of the Manager, Outdoor Adventure Playground, is to plan and manage all aspects of the adventure playground, ensuring smooth running of the Kidz Treehouse Forest Play Adventure Playground and all of its programmes. This role is paramount to the success of the outdoor adventure playground.
Reporting directly to the CEO, responsibilities are described as follows:
JOB DESCRIPTION
OPERATIONS & ADMINISTRATION
• Mentor, lead and motivate staff in their work
• Identify children and parents' needs; and maintain a high level of customer service delivery and satisfaction
• Manage all aspects of operations and administration including liaising with relevant departments in the headquarters
• Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and inform headquarters of any necessary changes
• Ensure periodic checking of equipment, maintenance of premises and safe operations at all times
• Manage and follow-up enquiries from social media accounts, calls and walk-in customers.
PLANNING
• Attend planning and reviewing meetings
• Conceive, plan and execute demand generation ideas to drive sign-ups
• Plan key activities such as Open Houses, workshops and other corporate events
• Ensure all risk assessments are up to date and continually managed
TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Ensure effective delivery of outdoor programmes and activities
• Ensure safety, hygiene and security of the children at all times
• Ensure adequate supervision of all outdoor activities
• Effectively manage the behaviour of the children
• Administer First-Aid when necessary
STAFF TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
• Conduct induction programmes for new staff
• Identify training needs and liaise with the headquarters to facilitate staff training
• Run and lead regular team meetings
• Complete all reviews and appraisals for staff efficiently, accurately and constructively following agreed timelines and perform other related duties as assigned by the CEO.
REQUIREMENTS
• Preferably 3 years of managerial experience in outdoor/ adventure/ forest school setting
• Preferably have youth development, teaching or instructional experience, and an active sporting or outdoor background
• Qualification in Sport Management/ Sport Coaching/ Outdoor Adventure/ Forest School Learning is preferred
• Experience in working with children ages 4 to 14 years old
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate leadership skills
• Standard First-Aid & AED Certificate (or be willing to take the cert with the company)
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong situational and safety awareness to manage the well-being of participants
• Physical fitness and mental resilience to work extensively in an outdoor environment
• Passion for engaging with and developing children and youths
