Job Summary:
The right-hand man or woman to the Head Chef and Sous Chef, the Chef de Partie is an essential part of the kitchen brigade loving nothing more than to be surrounded by seasonal fresh produce, a likeminded food-loving team and diners who return time and time again because the food coming out is so tasty.

Job Description:
- take care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the Sous and Head Chef to meet The Pantry's standards
- operates under the guidance and recommendations of the Head Chef to ensure that the whole brigade deliver a great food
- coordinates daily tasks with the Sous Chef to ensure the kitchen and service runs like clockwork
- supports with the training and development of the rest of the brigade as well as leading the team in the absence of the Sous or Head Chef
- estimates the daily food requirements for the brasserie and nursery and checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that everyone eats well
- ensures that the production, preparation and presentation of food are in line with the agreed presentation and delights members
- ensure high levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis
- have solid knowledge of all standard procedures and policies concerning food preparation, deliveries, storage and hygiene
- full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards
- follows good preservation standards for the proper handling of all food products at the right temperature
- take ownership for using equipment correctly and reporting any issues appropriately
- enjoy creating a lively and friendly working environment and maintaining positive working relationships with other departments
- take an active role in menu creation, whilst maintaining quality and controlling costs
- take personal responsible for hygiene, safety and correct use of equipment and utensils and supports the rest of the team to do the same
- maintain best practice with regards to expiry dates and storage of food items
- enjoys showcasing the kitchens talents during special events that require ‘off menu’ menus
- sets an example to others for personal hygiene and cleanliness on and off duty
- takes an active role in providing feedback and reporting of issues as they arise
- can carry out any other duties as required
- prepares ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc.)
- puts effort in optimising the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
- enforces strict health and hygiene standards
Requirements:
- You will have a passion for great produce and a willingness to learn new dishes
- Have solid experience at in the kitchen, preferably from a high street branded group working with fresh produce
- You will have been part of a small and tight-knit brigade before
- Flexible in your approach and willing to engage with non-kitchen staff to deliver The Pantry experience
- Confident and willing to step out from behind the pass to talk to members about food and your passion for creating great dishes
