Contract Manufacturing Supplier Manager

Job Purpose: 

Reporting to the Director for Supply Chain, the Contract Manufacturing (CM) Supplier Manager is the primary owner for the CM supplier relationships and responsible for supply continuity of a Product Line. Manage key Memjet suppliers to assure supply, quality, cost and lead the RFQ process for future projects.  Minimum 10 years of procurement and supplier management experience with 5 years managing procurement teams. 

Job Description: 

Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering/Product teams, Quality Engineers, Production and other Commodity Managers, and in accordance with the commodity strategy, this role will support the formulation and execution for overall supplier management strategy and is responsible for successfully managing the key relationships between Organization and the CMs. Conduct regular QBR, carry out ongoing reviews and support meetings to sustain the partnership. Have good knowledge of engineering and semiconductor materials and the associated suppliers. Manage and work closely with internal partners and contract manufacturers. Demonstrate high level of integrity in dealing with suppliers and partners. 

Responsibilities: 

• Manage the outsourcing and contract manufacturing partners globally. Optimize supplier performance including Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation, Supply Chain Management, etc.  

• Primary role is engaging CMs but may be seconded to support Material Suppliers where needed 

• Work within the purchasing/procurement teams to establish and develop Commodity Plan based on the company’s strategy and direction. 

• Constantly evaluate and identify supplier risks in term of financial, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, system, market, etc and leads efforts to address those risks. 

• Maintain supplier relationship which includes onsite visits, regular conference calls and supplier coming in visits. 

• Be the Point of Escalation and collaborate with various internal groups to resolve any issues from supplier’s cost, quality, delivery and design performance. 

• Conduct spend analysis, leading to negotiation with supply base  

• Identify Cost Reduction opportunities & review Delivery performance and Quality performance 

• Develop and execute annual and multiyear sourcing plans for spend related to our outsourced contract manufacturing suppliers. 

• Lead the cross functional team to define and continuously improve key supplier performance metrics. 

• Track and proactively manage Supplier Risk and ensure business continuity plans are robust 

• Drive issues to resolution and interface with design and manufacturing teams for rapid time to resolution. 

• Significant travel to supplier & partner sites (up to 50%). 

Skills/Qualifications: 

• Master/Bachelor degree in Engineering/Science from an accredited university. 

• At least 10 years of relevant working experience. 

• Proven leadership ability and problem-solving skills are a must 

• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrix organization required.  

• Prior printing and inkjet supply chain experience will be a plus 

• Have experience in preparing and reviewing supplier contracts 

• A comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management principles and application to SCM 

• Proven ability to lead and manage projects, proactive and professional in manner with a high degree of integrity, initiative, leadership, strong communication skills, negotiation and interpersonal skills. 

• Problem solver, willingness to take responsibility and drive improvements 

• Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin is a plus.
