Laytime Specialist

The Laytime Analyst/Specialist is responsible for reviewing each fixture’s terms with respect to demurrage / despatch and detention and to calculate the amounts due to each party. The role will include working closely with Operations and Chartering department to reconcile voyage accounts and closing the ongoing laytime files while minimizing risks and financial exposure:

• Providing accurate laytime statements at the conclusion of each charter. 
• Coordination of overall laytime activity for ongoing voyages.
• Responsible for timely closing of files with the counterparties in relation to the Laytime calculations.
• Report and provide relevant feedback to limit risk exposure, ie charter party clauses and commercial contracts.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor degree in shipping, logistic, freight forwarding or similar education 
• Experience of min 2 years in shipping, preferable operations and laytime calculations within dry bulk segment
