The Global FICC Technology group aims to drive business growth for our partners in the Front-Office, Operations and beyond. We do this with a mandate of delivering innovative new products, expanding our trading tool capabilities and modernizing critical platforms.
About The FICC APAC Team
The APAC Team has mandates to
Serve local APAC business to make sure their business needs are met in a timely manner; Answer questions and provide local L3 Dev support independently when required, without needing Dev from other regions; contribute to trouble-shooting PROD incidents occurred in other time zone/regions – a.k.a the 'Follow the Sun' model.
We make sure APAC business' requests and complaints are well heard and presented as requirement inputs to the overall Global FICC solution delivery.
Obtain and Preserve knowledge of critical FICC applications and platforms, to be able to independently upgrade as well as develop new addition to existing applications, in addition, actively participate and contribute in Global major project delivery initiatives.
As part of the FICC APAC team, you will be given the opportunity to learn and eventually possess knowledge of diverse range of Capital Markets products that power our business, spanning multiple business lines.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the global Murex development team across multiple Murex instances supporting FXC, FXO, and GPM (Global Precious Metals).
Translate business and functional requirements into robust, scalable Murex technical solutions, aligned with global design standards and long‑term supportability.
Design, develop, and enhance Murex applications and associated interfaces.
Perform unit testing and support release preparation and deployment into production environments.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, business analysts, architects, and IT partners to deliver optimal solutions.
Partner with Test Analysts to define and execute test scenarios aligned to functional requirements.
Liaise with the Murex vendor to ensure integration designs are compatible with internal configurations.
Deliver work within an Agile delivery framework.
Core Requirements
Degree in a numerate discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
10 years of experience in Murex development, including integration, migration, and/or upgrade initiatives.
Strong hands‑on expertise in Java, UNIX, and SQL, including scripting.
Solid understanding of derivatives, risk, and P&L.
Demonstrated experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Exposure to FXC, FXO, Base Metals, and Precious Metals products is preferred.
Strong knowledge of core Murex modules and features, with the ability to configure, troubleshoot, and support end users.
Murex Functional & Technical Expertise
Workflows: Pre‑ and post‑trade workflow development, including workflow design, transformations, interfaces, and pre‑trade sequencing (XSLT/MSL).
Trade Lifecycle: In‑depth understanding of the Murex trade lifecycle and mxPress workflow phases (contracts, events, deliverables).
Front Office: Curve setup, simulations, e‑Tradepad, FO configuration, trade pricing, P&L, risk, and VaR.
End of Day (EOD): Strong knowledge of the Murex data model, FINDB, Datamart configuration, batch processing, optimisation, reporting, and database querying.
Architecture & Support: Experience with Murex technical architecture, including performance monitoring, memory management, logging, and environment troubleshooting.
