Technical Lead – OT & Automation

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – OT & Automation to provide expert-level support across automation systems, OT infrastructure, and digital manufacturing technologies. This role will be responsible for driving technical excellence in design, implementation, and lifecycle management of OT systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability across projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Basis of Design (BoD) Support

• Provide technical expertise during development and review of Basis of Design (BoD) documentation for OT and automation systems.
• Ensure alignment of design with business, operational, and regulatory requirements.

2. OT & Automation Project Support

• Deliver technical support for automation engineering activities including project execution, system delivery, and implementation.
• Support deployment of new products, platforms, and automation solutions.

3. OT Infrastructure & Technology Selection

• Support selection, specification, and implementation of OT hardware, software, and infrastructure.
• Contribute to facility expansion projects with scalable and future-ready solutions.

4. OT Network & Infrastructure

• Provide expertise in OT network design and implementation:
• Network architecture design
• Firewall configuration and security systems
• Connectivity for lab and benchtop equipment

5. MES & Data Systems Support

• Provide technical support for MES systems, including:
• Recipe configuration and management
• Manufacturing Batch Records (MBR)
• Data historians and system integrations

6. Cybersecurity & Risk Management (CTD Support)

• Collaborate with CTD teams on:
• OT cybersecurity implementation
• Risk assessments and mitigation strategies
• Firewall port requirement analysis
• Upgrade impact assessments and Go/No-Go decisions

7. DeltaV Hardware Support

• Provide technical support for DeltaV systems:
• Hardware selection and configuration
• Troubleshooting and maintenance
• Lifecycle management to ensure reliability and performance

8. HCI (Hyper-Converged Infrastructure)

• Support design and maintenance of HCI infrastructure in OT environments.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and optimized system performance.

9. Virtualization & Infrastructure Support

• Provide expertise in VMware environments:
• Design and deployment of virtual systems
• Configuration and administration of VMs and hosts
• Ongoing maintenance and optimization

10. DMZ Layer Support

• Provide support for OT network DMZ layers:
• Enable secure data exchange between IT and OT systems
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards
• Configure and maintain security controls

11. Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Manage Acronis-based backup and recovery solutions:
• System design and deployment
• Backup configuration and monitoring
• Disaster recovery planning and execution

12. Upgrade Project Support

• Support system upgrade activities including:
• DeltaV
• MES
• OSI PI

PLC & HMI systems

13. Analytics, IIoT & Plant Performance

• Support IIoT platforms and analytics solutions:
• Enable predictive and preventive maintenance
• Provide monitoring, reporting, and performance insights
• Drive operational efficiency and reliability

14. OT Asset Lifecycle Management

• Manage lifecycle of OT assets:
• Maintenance and upgrades
• Obsolescence management
• Performance optimization

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in OT systems, industrial automation, and manufacturing IT

Hands-on expertise with:

• DeltaV systems
• MES platforms
• OSI PI / Data historians
• PLC/HMI systems

Experience in:

• OT network architecture and cybersecurity
• VMware virtualization and HCI infrastructures
• Backup & disaster recovery solutions (Acronis preferred)
• Knowledge of IIoT, analytics platforms, and digital manufacturing technologies
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration skills
