About the Job:


The Investment Services Private Market and Finance Department is responsible for investment services for the private market and financial management across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing operations and reporting support to the private market business of GIC as well as budgeting, accounting, payment processing, cash management, tax and financial & management reporting services to all departments, corporate management companies and the global offices of the GIC group. It is involved in deal structuring and closing, transaction processing, administration and accounting of investment holding companies, review of financial controls for asset operations, cash & securities reconciliation, valuation and financial reporting for assets under management, and external debt financing.


Responsibilities:

  
Create automated scripts to parse required data from tables in various Excel data sources (exported from GIC parser system) into structured format for analytics consumption
  
Work closely with other teams to evaluate AI and other alternative solutions to ingest unstructured information into GIC systems
  
Assist in re-designing intranet web-front

Requirements:

  
Strong technical skills and has experience with python or R scripting
  
Proficient in MS Excel & VBA
  
Familiar with Tableau or similar analytics tools
  
Good problem solving and analytical skills
  
Ability to work independently

Technical Skills and Competencies Trainee will learn during SGUnited Traineeship Programme:

  
To learn the Real Estate business and underlying investment monitoring metrics
  
To learn data management techniques including sourcing and ingestion, validation and data model design
  
To learn about the latest optical character recognition (AI or non-AI enabled) approaches in the industry
  
To learn to build automated scripts to parse information from Excel into data tables in a practical business environment
  
To learn problem solving skills in evaluating different approaches to data management
  
To learn how to use Sharepoint Online and understand the basic concept of UI design

Duration: 12 months
This position is for both recent graduates and mid-career individuals. Graduates interested in this position should passes a Poly Diploma Qualification. Mid-career individuals form any qualification level can apply.
