Job Description - EDUCATIONAL THERAPIST - Part-Time

Job Summary

Deliver tailored lessons and assessments for young learners, develop instructional materials, monitor student progress, and engage parents through regular updates and conferences. Contribute to curriculum design, awareness talks, and training initiatives to support children with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct group and individual lessons to support young learners’ academic development
  • Administer informal and formal assessments to evaluate student progress
  • Develop and adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
  • Monitor and document students’ academic progress through detailed reports and case notes
  • Communicate regularly with parents by sharing session updates via text, photos, and videos
  • Lead Parent-Teacher Conferences at the end of each term to discuss student progress and concerns
  • Participate in awareness talks and training courses to promote educational initiatives
  • Contribute to curriculum and resource design, action research, and pilot studies to enhance learning outcomes

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree in Psychology, Education (Special Education), or Early Childhood (Special Needs)
  • Other degrees with relevant work experience considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Ability to teach Literacy and Mathematics up to PSLE and/or ‘O’ level curriculum
  • Experience teaching children aged 4 years and above
  • Training in literacy and phonics programs such as Orton-Gillingham Approach, Lindamood-Bell program, Dyscalculia, and numeracy teaching
  • Experience working with children with developmental and learning difficulties including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, ADHD, and mild ASD
  • Experience teaching young children in small groups (up to 4 children) or classroom settings in preschool, early childhood, or enrichment centers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively as a team member
