Job Description - Assistant Manager, Marketing & Outreach (Till End Sep 2024) - Part-Time

We are seeking maternity leave coverage until the end of September 2024.

As an Assistant Manager (Activation & Engagement) of the Marketing and Outreach Team for the Institute for Human Resource Professionals Limited (IHRP), your role will involve driving key strategic goals of IHRP which involves the last-mile delivery of key messages and on-ground conversions efforts through the planning and execution of activation events, programmes and engagement activities organised by the institute.

You will work closely with the Marketing and Outreach Team as well as internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute strategies that attracts, engage and build loyalty and goodwill with our target audiences. Here are the key responsibilities associated with this role:

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective activation and engagement strategy that aligns with our business goals, key messages, product launches, and service updates. Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify target audiences and industry trends.
  • Events Management: Oversee the management of all activation and engagement events, particularly key flagship events from ideation through execution. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align marketing efforts with event objectives. Ensure all events achieve their intended objectives and are executed timely, within budget, and meet KPIs.
  • Partners, Sponsors & Influencers Management: Engage and manage partners, sponsors and professional influencers to execute events professionally and amplify outreach efforts.
  • Database Management: Maintain and manage member database effectively and efficiently. Implement strategies to reduce churn rate and improve certification renewals. Utilise email marketing platforms and customer relationship management (CRM) systems to execute targeted and personalised engagement initiatives.
  • Customer Engagement: Foster customer engagement through the design and implementation of innovative initiatives, which could be both digital or physical. These initiatives should enhance target audiences’ experience, brand loyalty, and foster goodwill.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Monitor, measure, and report on the effectiveness of marketing activation initiatives against specified objectives and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Budget Management: Manage the marketing activation budget, ensuring spend is tracked and optimized for maximum ROI.
  • Research & Best Practices: Conduct ongoing market research to understand customer behaviour, market trends, and competitor activity. Stay updated on emerging digital marketing trends and platforms to optimize event promotion. Use this information to inform and improve marketing activation strategies.


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, events management or a related field.
  • Proven experience (at least 3 years’ experience) in event marketing, database and membership management, preferably in a professional or educational environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content for different marketing channels.
  • Good understanding of different marketing platforms, such as email marketing tools, social media management tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for design and aesthetics.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the Human Resources field and professional development events is a plus.
  • Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and can adhere to tight deadlines
  • Have basic graphic design work and familiarity with Canva and/or knowledge of basic video editing (an advantage to have but not a requirement)
