The KidzAlive@home project implemented by Zoë-Life Innovative Solutions (ZLIS) and funded by Aidsfonds is aimed at accelerating case finding of undiagnosed children aged 0 to years living with HIV. We also aim to have these children linked to care, kept on treatment and retained in care with the support of community partners, including CBOs, Healthcare Facilities and other community actors. CBOs and healthcare facility staff have been provided with KidzALive training (on KidzAlive FSI and FHDA), mentorship and provided with technical support to ensure that their systems and activities promote active case finding of children. The project started in September 2 and will run until August 5.
Zoë Life seeks to appoint a full time i.e. 5 days per week – Data Capturer, based in Durban South Africa.
The position is available from the 1st April 3.
Data Capturer maintains the organisation’s project database by entering new and updated project data information. The Data Capturer reports to the M&E Officer.
Support partner community based organisations and facilities on site by tallying and capturing quarterly reporting implementation data.
Prepare source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities;
Processes project data source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the relevant staff member for resolution;
Enters projects data into the organisations database;
Verifies entered project data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data; purging files to eliminate duplication of data;
Secures information by completing data base backups;
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures as set by M&E Officer within the overall organisation’s policy for data management; reporting needed changes;
Protects operations by keeping information confidential;
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed; and
Other Data related tasks as requested;
Train and support CBO staff on how to submit correct and complete data records;
Quality-check data in source documents to promote completeness and quality;
Produce summary reports on a monthly basis and distribute to persons identified; and
Produce reports on request.
Requirements:
A matric qualification/University student looking for NGO experience;
2-3 years of data capturing or knowledge of Excel and data entry;
Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project);
Analytical skills; mature judgment combined with a proactive, energetic approach to problem solving;
Working knowledge of databases and spreadsheet applications e.g. Access Excel;
Time management skills;
Communication (written and verbal); English, isiZulu
Driver’s license (at least E/Code 8)
Planning, coordination and organising skills; and
Experience working independently and in a team.
