Job Description - HR (Human Resources) Officer

Join our client's dynamic team in Cape Town (with an option in George as well). They are dedicated to innovation and seeking an enthusiastic HR Officer to contribute to their success.


Job Title: HR Officer

Location: Bellville OR George

Salary: R18 000 - R20 000

Closing date: End April 2024

As an HR Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our HR department in various administrative tasks and responsibilities. You will assist in the implementation of HR policies and procedures, handle employee relations matters, and contribute to fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruitment processes such as job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including paperwork, orientation sessions, and training schedules.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
  • Handle employee inquiries and provide necessary HR-related information and support.
  • Administer HR-related documentation and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist in performance management processes, including conducting performance reviews and providing guidance on performance improvement plans.
  • Support employee relations initiatives and contribute to fostering a positive work culture.
  • Assist in organizing employee engagement activities and events.
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate HR-related projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.


  • Proven HR working experience of 3 - 5 years.
  • Must be fluent in Afrikaans or English (English preferred).
  • HR Diploma or related certification is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS software (e.g., SAP, Workday, BambooHR).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
