We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Reporter to sit at the heart of our dynamic growing editorial team. As a Reporter, you will play a critical role in supporting the editorial team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality publications to our discerning audience.

What you’ll be doing

• You will work as part of a wider editorial team covering other titles.
• Find and write news stories for Intelligent Insurer and other titles.
• Edit press releases and reports to comply with our style guide and be of interest to our audience.
• Develop industry knowledge, contacts and sources to increasingly generate unique news stories.
• Upload stories on to various websites on a daily basis.
• Help the team create and send out daily newsletters for multiple titles.
• Design, source or resize images to accompany stories to be uploaded.
• Stay updated with event details and make necessary uploads or modifications on our websites.
• Coordinate with the editorial team to ensure timely uploading of publications and magazines to the website.
• Assist in the design and distribution of special event newsletters.
• Ensuring relevant tags and keywords are used when uploading stories to the websites.

 What you will need

 Experience

• 1 year+ experience writing or working in journalism and communication-related roles.
• Experience of working with raw news and press releases.
• Excellent literacy and writing skills.
• A good understanding of journalism as a career.
• Be highly organised, meticulous and accurate.
• Ability to adjust to tight deadlines.
• Strong project management and administrative skills.
• Demonstrate team working ethos.
• Be able to manage several tasks concurrently and have strategies to manage workload.

Skills/knowledge

• Be proficient using Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Wix, WordPress or Blaze.
• Understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and best practices.
• Be able to use Canva to design and resize images.
• Be proficient at using different IT systems including Microsoft Office, Google G-Suite and able to pick up technology easily.

• Knowledgeable in Google Analytics (GA4) and interpreting traffic metrics to inform decisions.
• Be able to use social media platforms such as LinkedIn, X and Instagram.
